CRPF Full Form

CRPF Full Form is Central Reserved Police Force .The Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) has earned the distinction of having the most extensive of all India's Central Armed Police Forces. It works under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India.

The CRPF's primary role is helping the State/Union Territories with police operations to maintain peace, order, and law and counter insurgency. It has been holding the reins in anti-Naxal operations in the past five years and has reached milestones that are worth pondering.

CRPF Full Form - A Brief History

CRPF was initially established by the Crown Representative Police in 1939, it is one of the oldest Central paramilitary forces (now known as the Central Armed Police Force). CRPF was created in response to the protests and unrest within the royal States of India following the Madras Resolution of the All-India Congress Committee in 1936, and the rising desire from the crown representative to aid the vast majority of indigenous States to ensure peace and order as component of the imperial policy.

Following the declaration of independence, the force was changed to Central Reserve Police Force by an Act of Parliament on December 28, 1949. This Act established CRPF as an armoured force of the Union. Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, the Home Minister of the time, visualized a multi-dimensional role that was in line with the changing needs of a newly independent nation.

The CRPF Rules as envisaged in CRPF Act were framed in 1955 and then published in the Gazette of India dated March 25 in 1955. Shri V.G.Kanetkar was appointed the first Director General of CRPF.since the time, it has been working relentlessly to make India a better place and a place of peace.
